Cherbourg - Paris - Amsterdam - Berlin - Gdansk - Prague - Vienna - Florence - Rome
Departing Dublin for Cherbourg
Cherbourg - My brief visit included a trip to check out the decommissioned submarine Redoubtable and Basilique Sainte-Trinité.
Paris - My visit included checking out the Centre Pompidou (which is due to close for an extended period), the Louvre, Musée de l'Armée (and Napoleon's tomb) and the Catacombs of Paris.
Amsterdam - Climbed a church, checked out the Rjiksmuseum and went to Zaanse Schans to check out windmills. Within De Nieuwe Kerk was a World Press Photo exhibition where Lyra McKee's name was displayed on a memorial of murdered journalists.
Berlin - Absolutely kicking myself I didn't bring my camera for an afternoon of relaxing in Tempelhof Airfield. My stay here had no fixed itinerary, I generally just wandered around on foot and using the superb public transport system.
Gdansk - Another church climbed and a visit to its absolutely mammoth Second World War museum.
I am a full pierogi convert now.

Prague - A city overflowing with artistry both traditional and... new. A particular highlight while walking our blistered feet to the top of the hill to visit the castle and stunning cathedral was discovering the monastery restaurant was closed to walk-ins but their beer garden was open.
Vienna - Climbed another church, visited the Belvedere Palace, a flak tower and Hapsburg family crypts. Spent 30% of my time waiting to cross roads. A protest I encountered was uploaded to a separate album on here.
Florence - A sleeper train took me from Vienna to Florence overnight. Climbed another church and wandered around. I was fortunate enough to be surprised by a sixth floor balcony with my stay so got to wrap up my one night in this city by relaxing on the balcony as the sun set.
Rome - The last stop on the trip and a visit to St. Peter's Basilica I had been hoping to do since a missed chance in 2019. This coincided with a Jubilee event at the vatican with large groups of pilgrims being welcomed ahead of an address by Pope Leo. I took the opportunity to climb the dome of St. Peter's and encountered yet another one of tourism stickers for Baden-Württemberg at the top of it. A rather surreal and unique highlight of this visit was heading to Dario Argento's horror shop named for his movie Profondo Rosso (Deep Red) which has a tiny museum in the basement and ended up buying merch directly from filmmaker Luigi Cozzi who helps run the shop.
Disposable Camera Photos - Worth a go
